Max is a stray who came to us from Minnesota. He is about 4 years old. He is usually a nice dog except when there are bones around. Max is special because he has a disease called Masticular Myopothy?. This disease is pretty terrible for him to endure. The disease has attacked the muscles that control and allow him to use his jaws. Most of these muscles have been completely eaten away by this disease,leaving him with a sunken looking head. There is virtually nothing the vets can do now to help him. It is sad because the disease will progress until one day he will no longer have the strength to chew or eat his food, then he will have to be put down. I guess that is what rescue is supposed to do, but it is not easy sometimes. We will keep him till that time comes.
